Meet Tom, the Business Development Manager at Candio – a brand within the Pragma Group, where we specialise in helping technology resellers grow recurring revenue by delivering white-label digital solutions to end users.
Current job: Business Development Manager
First job: Telesales Exec at BDR Voice & Data
Favourite job (can’t be current job): Business Development at Warwick.Net. Job was no different to any other, just worked with great people all day, constant laughs!
Favourite qualities in a person: Humour
Your main fault: Not re-reading emails – apologies for any spelling mistakes
What do you appreciate in your friends most: Laughs – we are never serious, just constantly poking fun!
Your idea of happiness: Airport ready to take off, I love travelling and seeing new places!
If not yourself, who would you rather be: Seth Macfarlane – what a great range of voices that guy has!
Where would you like to live: New York, not sure I would enjoy it but would love to live in The Big Apple
What is your favourite pastime: Watching films! Missed the cinema big time over lockdown! I would’ve said football but after 12 months off – I’m not missing it at all.
Favourite author and book: Don’t really have a favourite author unless Stan Lee counts? But my favourite book is Steve Jobs by Walter Isaacson.
Favourite band / musician / song: Chainsmokers – Something Just Like This
Favourite fictional hero or heroine: Captain America
Best piece of advice: Even a broken clock is right twice a day!
Worst job decision: Nothing major. Maybe telling Will about how good HubSpot is, because now all he does is message me about it!
But in all seriousness… I have enjoyed every job I have done. I look back at certain points and think ‘why did I not say this?’ or ‘why did I not do that?’ but nothing comes to mind as the worst.
Best job decision: Again, I can think of little things I have done well that all add up to a job well done – but nothing stands out as a masterpiece.
Any regrets: Yeah loads! In life and business.
If you could give one-piece of advice to your 16-year old self, what would it be: Fake it ’til you make it!
Football Team: Aston Villa – someone’s got to!
