My first role in the telecoms industry was in 1985, with a company called Teledex UK, which I worked with for around 3-years. In 1988, I then moved to a company called TVC General Telephone for just over a year before they were brought by National Telecom. It was there that I first met David George and Tracy Jackson, who I worked with for roughly 18-months until the company was purchased by Alcatel – at which time I then left to set up my own company.
It wasn’t long after I started Teleconnect in 1991 that I was approached by Tracy Jackson, the then Sales Director of Crane, to discuss the new equipment from Goldstar and potentially become a reseller for Crane Telecommunications. In the next week or so, Tracy came in himself and delivered a demonstration for the GSX408. We immediately saw the fantastic features of the product and took it straight on – from then on, Ericsson-LG has always remained in our portfolio and the first choice we provide to our customers.
30-years ago, the channel had many characters who were all young, enthusiastic and hungry to succeed. It’s great to see the next generation of individuals coming through to take the bull by its horns and continue driving Ericsson-LG to new heights.
Why change something that is continuously being innovated and developed to ensure it’s always performing at a market-leading specification. If the first 30-years have gone this quickly, here’s to the next 30.
